Amen a good desire to be serving & growing in Christ.. but we don’t leave anything behind to move on for z Christ. I must admit you had me a bit concerned in the beginning where you were going with your thoughts. What keeps me going are the facts of Christs work on the Cross & what His sacrifice in His Blood bought Salvation for me has done & still does; taking my Sin applying it to Himself, imputing His Righteousness to me in place of my Sin & then Drinking the Cup of GOD’s Wrath meant for me leaving not one Drop in the Cup. For that I stay Fixed on the Cross I don’t need to set it aside to serve Him on the contrary Christ’s Love for me constrains me to want to serve because He put His Holy Spirit in me to love others & Him. I can do nothing apart from Him & my Salvation is His work in me. Given the Holy Spirit to love & good works. To be in the Will of my father what He calls my works to be for His plan and purpose. Not my thoughts but HIS.

πŸ™Œβ€οΈβ€πŸ”₯John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

πŸ™πŸΌπŸ•Š2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

2 Corinthians 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me.

Your sister in Christ; 1 Thess 1:9 it is our common Election that keeps us β€œOne Bonded in the Brotherhood”with Christ.

We may not fully realize who we are and what has already been accomplished -- and thereby walk in/by faith in what God through His word and the completed work of Christ has accomplished ("It is finished" means it is finished!).

The transition to a new (never before seen in the earth) creation, walking in newness of life, clothed with Christ, occurred upon our receipt of Christ at re-birth:

Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized (placed into) into Christ Jesus were baptized (placed into) into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in NEWNESS OF LIFE. (Romans 6:3-4)

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Galatians 3:27)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-18)

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form. And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. (Colossian 2:9-10)

We've Been Freed From The Law & Sin (Past, Completed With Present Results):

We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For anyone who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. So you too must count (reckon) yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:6-11)

But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became OBEDIENT FROM THE HEART to that form of teaching to which you were entrusted, and after being FREED FROM SIN, you became slaves to righteousness. (Romans 6:17-18)

You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you. (Romans 8:9-11)

He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds (Titus 2:14)

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His stripes you are healed. (1 Peter 2:24 quoting from Isaiah 53)

There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

Christ lives in us (Once we've apprehended Him, there is no turning back):

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)

But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him. (1 Corinthians 6:17)

This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. (1 John 4:9)

Righteousness For Those Saved As Predicted:

In His days Judah will be saved and Israel will dwell securely, and this is His name by which He will be called, β€˜The Lord our righteousness.’ (Jeremiah 23:6, 33:16)

Offered as part of being born again:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

As Fulfilled:

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! So then, just as one trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness brought justification and life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:17-19)

It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 (Corinthians 5:21)

God is at work in & through us (it is not "our" work, but His in and through us):

For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship (work of art), created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance (for us to walk in) as our way of life. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20)

Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)

For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose. (Philippians 2:13)

Once we grasp the entirety of the gift we've apprehended when we receive Christ Jesus as our Savior/Lord we can walk in the newness of life procured for us who are the redeemed, having been purchased out of the slave market of sin, living in freedom..."for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence" (2 Peter 1:3)

Perhaps we've not understood what we have and whose we are well enough to truly be whom God has made us to be as His body, His temple, His bride & His chosen & beloved....and can, when we understand, walk in faith and confidence in Him for all we need and all He has for us to fulfill in our lives.

Thanks Mike, you ask, "Is Christ Living Through me"? I would say more precisely that Christ lives within me. Hopefully, I have become much more a home for my Savior than a mere conduit. It is participation n the life of Christ, which is His Sonship with respect to our Father that alone can instill a disposition of genuine sanctity in us and as a result can compel attainment of the one one goal of our existence which is participation in our utterly unique destiny of Sainthood. Without taking the time to allow our Savior to establish within us the unique mutual union we call communion with Him, little of actual value to progress being made on the equally unique journey on our road to Heaven is possible. All else that comprises our life of participation in our destiny of sainthood which is selflessly attendant to the Person, the needs, and desires of our God alone, for His sake alone, is rather than the set of goals of Christian life, the result of our communion with Him.

Thank you brother. Appreciate that. Very well said. It's all about letting Him live His life in us. Love how you put it as becoming a home for Him. Makes me think of when the Lord said, "Abide in Me and I in you...". To dwell is to make a home. It's not just a quick visit but rather a long term residence. That's what He desires.

Good post. I concur. Too many sons and daughters model their lives according to half the blueprint we have in Christ. They live the pre-resurrection half. And in doing so, they only apprehend half their identity, half their calling, half their inheritance. They don't comprehend the full work of Christ. Therefore their lives, don't reflect the resulting rewards His resurrection produce for us.

But even now, Father works so that many more sons and daughters would awake into the fullness of their original design according to the image of the First Born of Heaven--according to His own image.

Yes we must move on and up, pressing forward to reach for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:14. Growth is what naturally results. If we do not grow we are not going to mature and bear fruit. Eat and drink and grow in wisdom and stature, to the full measure of character that Jesus shows us is possible. I think unless He dwells in us and continually renews us by His Spirit we cannot grow on our own strength for long without additional help.

I love what you say. I read the Bible every way I could imagine...literal commentary apologetics translations ancient and more. Then I stopped because the spirit stopped teaching and I realized it was time to be...to do. I'm a new baby again but it is more I need to learn. How to step aside my "me" to allow Him to use this body as a manifestation. It is more exciting and more difficult than any other study and yet the best yet. Thank you for encouraging me.
