Welcome to another Still in the Storm post!
We are still continuing on the path (for now) of viruses. That said, in this video I’m taking a step back and walking you through just what a virus is supposed to be and why virologists conduct the experiments that they do in an attempt to study viruses.
A word of caution though. For much of this, I’m playing devil’s advocate and providing a view of these things through the eyes of a virologist who believes completely in this paradigm and trusts all of the data that they generate. I’ve been there, done that.
One aspect of the whole virus story that I think is missed by some is what these particles are actually supposed to be and how they are to function. Some have even argued as to whether they are alive or not. I never bought into that even when I was a young scientist.
Bottom line, we are talking about extremely small particles that would have no activity unto themselves. Zero, zilch, nada, nothing. They would have no metabolic function whatsoever and are thus totally reliant on cells.
My hope is that this will help you to understand more of where scientists who believe they are studying viruses are coming from. It is with this context that we will move forward into other discussions about the tests, PCR, antibodies, immunology, vaccines, and more.
I hope you find the information valuable. Please let me know if you have any follow up questions on this topic or any other for that matter. I always want to make sure that these are as helpful for you as possible.
Until next time, don’t stop questioning the science! It is never settled.
Thank you and God Bless.
