In addition, I recall a conversation I had with a physicist who related the results of the Solvay Conference of 1927. I was told that at this conference several theories were put forward in the budding study of quantum mechanics. The Copenhagen Model won out due to its more completeness at the time and the weight of those who championed it. Other models were stymied in there developed because funding went to the Copenhagen Model. While the my physicist friend uses and teaches with the Copenhagen Model as the foundation, he believes this was a mistake as there are glaring inconsistencies and assumptions that are made to make the Copenhagen Model work. He believes that these other models need deeper investigation and some of the inconsistencies of the Copenhagen Model need to be closed, but there is little interest or money for this effort.
