Welcome to another Still in the Storm Substack post.
Today, I feel compelled to share a story with you. It is something that befell my family and myself this week. Perhaps it will bring some hope to you.
Did I mention frozen pipes?
Despite the globalists’ best attempts to sell their climate change argument, that we are warming, the actual climate has had something entirely different in mind lately.
In short, much of the last week has seen the majority of the continental United States frozen solid.
We’ve been experiencing one of the more potent blasts of arctic air that I can remember.
Despite this, my family and I went away for a short trip last weekend.
When we left the temperature had only started to plunge and we didn’t realize just how low it would go.
Still, we made some preparations to try and ensure that our house was protected, specifically that our pipes would not freeze.
Turns out we didn’t account for everything.
Despite our best attempts, we came home to a complete lack of running water.
It was late in the afternoon and temperature was 8 degrees F.
This is not a story about how my house was flooded
I don’t think I only speak for myself when I say that everyone’s biggest fear around frozen pipes is that they will burst resulting in flooding your house and destroying many priceless belongings.
Well, when I was encountered with no running water and sub-freezing temperatures that was the first place my mind went.
I quickly checked the entire house and every exposed pipe.
Fortunately, I found no evidence of a frozen or burst pipe.
There was no water to be found anywhere.
I had a temporary sigh of relief and quickly thanked the Lord before proceeding to investigate further.
There must be an answer though
What was causing the lack of water in my house?
All roads still pointed to a frozen pipe but, it didn’t appear to be in my house.
Next, we reached out to the water company to see if others in the area were being impacted.
It was just us.
Still, they sent someone out the next morning to confirm that water was flowing to our meter.
Maybe the issue was still on their end.
Nope, they didn’t see any problems with water flow.
Ok, seriously
There had to be an explanation. Water flow doesn’t just stop.
Somewhere a pipe had to be frozen but, I just couldn’t see it.
The fact that we had no flowing water in our whole house pointed to the issue being in the pipe that brought water from the meter into the house.
This almost never happens because these pipes are supposed to be buried below the frost line.
So it’s very rare for a frozen pipe to not be in the house.
Not only that but many times frozen pipes crack and break due to expansion caused by the water freezing.
There’s no shortage of horror stories around pipes freezing and breaking.
Epic water damage and the loss of priceless items almost always occurs.
The odds were clearly stacked against us.
We had clearly dodged a huge blow.
Thank you God.
Next I called a plumber because despite the worst case not occurring I still had a frozen pipe somewhere.
Certainly, they’d have some kind of gadget to warm and thaw it.
They did but, unfortunately, were booked solid and couldn’t get out to me for two days.
That’s an eternity when you have small children as I do that need to use the bathroom regularly.
Then I talked to a friend who knows plumbing and he said that I could try heating the pipe but likely would have to wait for the plumber.
So, I decided to try and use a space heater on the pipe for a little while.
For the longest time, nothing seemed to be happening despite the pipe warming up.
I started to doubt my ability to do anything since the frozen section was most likely somewhere buried in my front yard and there was no way I could reach it.
After resolving to give the outcome to the Lord and accept whatever came, I started to prepare for several days without running water.
Then the unthinkable happened
I had been heating the pipe all day and opened up my kitchen faucet in the hope that water would pour out if the pipe thawed.
As I said, for the better part of the day nothing happened and I was ready to wait out the plumber.
I had no way of knowing exactly where the frozen section was and it didn’t seem like my warming of the pipe was having any effect.
All of a sudden I heard a weird noise and ran to the sink.
Water was flowing out! But, how?
Quickly I then ran to the pipe to make sure that there wasn’t also water pouring into my basement.
It was dry but the pipe was very cold despite hot air blowing directly on it.
Somehow the frozen pipe was able to thaw and flow was restored.
Did I mention that this occurred in the evening as the temperature outside was starting to plummet again for the night?
I was blown away. There was no explanation.
Truly, I believe that the Lord stepped in and thawed that pipe.
Nothing that I did sufficiently explains it so, I’m unwilling to take credit.
What could have been an absolute disaster was seemingly averted.
Praise God!

God bless 🙏❤️🙏 I’m so happy for you and your family . Do you have all copper pipes or hard plastic pipes ?? Researching stated we should always have copper pipes , wonder if that would of made a difference in your case . Wonder why they made pipes changed from copper to plastic in houses?? We have a neighbor across the street that had to go out of town and their house is oner 3,000 sq feet. The alarm went off so the cop looked around and didn’t see anything wrong . Then a few days past and the daughter came out and found out the osmosis under the kitchen sink was leaking for over a week . That was last nov 2023. They got the house mold all removed, but for some reason they won’t finish the house. The insurance company still paying rent for their rental. We now always shut off our water when we leave town , there’s also sensors you can add to stop water if any leaks start. Sorry ! For the long note. Just want share to warn people when they leave town to protect their home. God bless 🙏❤️🙏
Your prayers were answered. There is so much divine assistance available, but we have to ask for it. There are legions of Angels waiting to help. It fulfills their purpose, but they have to be asked. Jesus said to pray without ceasing. What would life be like if we all did?
