Are We Really All in This Together?
No, but We Can Fix That and Here's How...
Why we must gather again and soon!
We have been continually told throughout this entire crazy ordeal that we are all in this together. But is that true? If it is, then why have they done everything possible to keep us apart? The isolation in our homes, the distancing when out and about, the wearing of masks so we can no longer see facial expressions. If that is “together” than please count me out. Before we go any further, I want to make it clear that we are not suggesting that there is no one that believes this stuff that doesn’t have good intentions and perhaps is thinking they are helping or doing their part. This reminds me of a phrase in an English proverb that says, “The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions”. We want to believe that most people have good hearts and aren’t intrinsically evil. Today, let’s examine closer whether these measures to keep us separated weren’t just ill-informed and ill-logical but, an intentional strategy to keep people from connecting and healing together through God. Have you thought about why they want us separated aside from the whole virus story? What if there is more?
As we explore the implications of not being able to connect and what it means, we will see that it might be more important that we realize. Let’s start here:
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” – Matt 18:19-20.
This passage from the Apostle Matthew tells us that when we are gathered together in prayer in God’s name that he is there too. God’s intent, as told to us through the letters from the Apostles, is that the body of Christ, the ecclesia, is to gather and let Jesus work through us. It might surprise you that those who tried to do this in the 1st century AD were treated in a similar manner as those of us who are trying to do the same today. Make no mistake, this is a spiritual battle and such the very nature of us gathering together is seen as a direct threat.
Is there a biological reason for gathering?
Believe it or not there may actually be a biologic rationale to this as well. When we take the view of the modern medical science dogma on the human body, we are told it is nothing more than a biological machine. In that line of thinking, the human heart is looked upon as no more than a pump but, what if that isn’t entirely true? Most would think that the brain is the central hub of thought and understanding. Because of that you would likely think that the strongest electromagnetic field from the human body comes from the brain, and you would be wrong. It turns out that the heart emits an energy field that is approximately 5,000 times greater that that of the brain. It can actually be measured at up to 10 feet away from the body. That’s amazing, right? This was predicated upon by the discovery of more than 40,000 neurons that exist in the heart leading to what some neuroscientists have dubbed, “the heart-brain”. This means that we actually interact with each other in an invisible manner and could even exchange thoughts or healing energies.

Say, that kind of sounds like what many in theology have referred to when discussing the spirit. The bible even tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,
“Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
Perhaps it lives within the heart. So, when we gather, we are literally interacting with each other on a spiritual level, and this can even have a healing effect. Well, we can’t have that, can we? Perhaps now it becomes a little clearer just why there has been such an effort to keep us apart throughout this whole ordeal.

This is at the very center of finding our still in the storm. We must reconnect so that we are even stronger. Together we can find the strength to go to battle. What is coming is going to take all that we have but, we are stronger that we realize. From this core point of reconnecting, we will now build out an exploration of many things within faith and healing that will help us to navigate this storm together.
They only seem like giants because we are on our knees. Time to stand up and go to battle!
